Lieutenant EMT or Paramedic / Firefighter - Full Time

The Strasburg Fire Protection District is a growing and progressive Fire/EMS transport agency serving the communities of Strasburg and Byers. Located 20 minutes East of the Denver Metro area, along Interstate 70, the district and surrounding areas population is expected to have significant growth over the next 10 years.

Medical direction under University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) and the Denver Metro protocols allow our clinicians to provide advanced level care to our citizens. Currently we respond to approximately 1,100+ calls for service per year. 

The crew works 48 hour shifts as part of the fire department crew, responding to 911 calls and acting as the lead clinician for all medical emergencies. 

Minimum Requirements:

• US Citizenship
• High School Diploma (or GED equivalent)
• A minimum of 21 years old
• Five (5) or more years of fire service experience
• Colorado EMT, and BLS certifications
• Colorado Firefighter certification
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800
• Colorado Hazmat certification
• Colorado Driver’s License
• Acceptable MVR
• Must pass a background check; A felony conviction will result in candidate disqualification.

Preferred Certifications:

• Colorado Paramedic, ACLS, and PALS Certification
• Colorado or IFSAC / Pro Board Fire Officer I - must be obtained within 24 months of hire date. 
• NWCG Engine Boss
• Hazmat technician
